Please Note: There are two methods you can use for locking content. You can use the standard social share method or the social login method which stores email address, netword ID and name of the person who has shared your content. The standard method does not store this info and only shows a hit in the stats.

  • Visit SMVB templates configuration page

In your Admin navigation bar you click “SMVB” then "templates" (the Plugin is also reachable via

https://Your-Site-Name/wp-admin/admin.php?page=smvb-template

  • Click add New Locker
  • Enter a readable title (something you will remember later on. Ex. Image Locker blue, Content Locker, Sign in Content Locker
  • Select what type of locker this is (standard or login)
  • Enter the title visitors will see. i.e Please support us and share this with friends
  • Enter a description for visitors to know why the content is locked and what they need to do to unlock the content.
  • 1) Select the locker background color (each template you create can have its own design)
  • 2) Select the text color
  • 3) Slide the padding selector to your liking
  • 4) Slide the Outer radius to a width you wish to have
  • 5) Slide the inner radius to your liking
  • At the bottom there is a live preview to allow you to fine tune the final locker that people will see.
  • After you have made the changes and are satisfied with how this locker looks click Save Changes.

Now lets get viral :-)

  • Create content and lock it

To setup locked content simply click to create a new piece of content.

  • create a new post and add SMVB

Once you click to create a new post you will see in the wysiwyg editor bar the new SMVB Social share symbol. Click that drop down to select which of the Content lockers you wish to use for this content (these are the different content locker templates we created in the previous step)

  • [smvb] [/smvb] code snippet is added

once you have clicked the desired content locker template you will see the code block appear in the content area.

At this point you can add all or some of your content in between the opening and closing smvb code snippets. Anything that appears between the opening [smvb] and closing [/smvb] code will be locked by this social locker and will require visitors to share it through your configured social channels before they can view it.

SMVB Logs

The Logs section allows you to see the history of how many people and in the case of the Social Login Locker, who shared your content.

To view who shared your content (in the case of social login locker) click on Tracking for SMVB and then click on the content title. You will se the email/names of all people who shared your social login locker content.
